What i can do and what i cannot do
To avoid confusion, it’s important to understand what this role allows me to do, and what it does not.
What i can do
Some things I can work on directly, and some things are handled at a national level
Accountable Governance
You always know what is being done, why it matters, and where things stand.
Follow up with authorities
Work with relevant offices to push issures forward.
Improve local services
Support improvements in waste, public spaces and daily servcies.
Support Community Initiatives
Help local ideas, youth, and small projects grow.
Plan and Deliver Local Development
Local development and do it equitably for the constituency
Socio & economic well being
Supporting opportunities, that creates a more stable and inclusive local economy.
Supporting Tourism Growth
Ensure council decisions are in alignment with the development of Tourism
Tourism is deeply important to the people of Addu (Not just Feydhoo). It represents opportunity, income, and a stronger future for many families and local businesses. I understand how much the community looks forward to seeing real progress in this area.
I will ensure that my decisions remain aligned with the development of tourism, supporting initiatives, facilitating necessary processes, and doing what I can within my role to help create opportunities that benefit both Feydhoo–Magudhoo and the wider Addu community.
What i cannot do
Clear on the limits of this role and where decisions depend on wider systems, processes, and approvals
Make National-Level Decisions
Things like large infrastructure or policy are not controlled by the ward council.
Promise Immediate Solutions
Some issues take time, coordination, and approvals.
Control Everything
Not all outcomes are within the council’s direct control.
Unfair Decisions for Majority
Decisions must be fair and based on the community, not individual requests
Work Alone
Almost all solutions and decisions require me to work with other councilors and the government.
Personal Handling
Not all matters can be handled individually, many require proper channels.
What You Can Expect From Me
You can expect consistency, honesty, and real effort in how I approach this role. I will focus on doing the work properly, staying present, and following through on what matters. Trust is not something I will ask for, it is something I intend to earn over time through clear actions, accountability, and genuine commitment to the community.
